Project Brief:
Over the course of three months, use advanced CAD modeling skills and the brand language of NOTHING (R), to design a product that merges useability, retro flare, and excitement.
Branding Research
Nothing is a company that focuses on bringing fun and excitement back into the mobile technology market. It accomplishes that by applying a distinct design style featuring retro flare, clean lines, minimalist forms, elements of transparency, and many small details.
Nothings existing brand catalog includes the majority of the mobile technology market segment, with items like cell phones, headphones, earbuds, and smart watches.
A portable keyboard was chosen as the prospective product since it can be used as an everyday product both at a users desk, and as a portable solution for a more comfortable/useful typing experience in public. It can also be used alongside all of the products Nothing already makes.
Once the keyboard was chosen, the idea of a mouse was added, allowing the products to be sold in a set or on their own, since most users want their devices to match aesthetically. A mouse is also a more portable product and would allow the set to fit into the brands catalog better.

Sketch Models
The sketch models above were tested with 10 peers, these tests finalized many aspects of the final forms for both the keyboard and mouse.
For the keyboard, they finalized the overall "bubble" style of the housing, the 10 degree incline of the overall form, and some of the features to be included like the mappable slider, and the LED matrix
For the mouse, they finalized the sizing of the final product, flowing from slightly too small, then too flat, into a size that was just about perfect for each of the 10 hands that tested it.
